Caol Ila 2009 Gordon & MacPhail Gordon & MacPhail have a special arrangement with the Super Tuscan wine producer Sassicaia, and have exlusive use of their casks for both G&M and Benromach bottlings. On the nose, dried figs mingle with sweet cured meats and cinnamon spice. Fudge and milk chocolate notes lead to rich smoke. On the palate, redcurrant gives way to subtle black pepper. Red apple comes to the fore alongside lemon peel and toasted oak finishing with pepper, forest fruits and lingering smoke. Only 257 bottles produced.
