Continuing Compass Box’s adventures into patisserie flavours, Brûlée Royale sees the fruitiness of Clynelish single malt, the custard of Benrinnes and a smidge of Ardbeg ooze together at a silken 49% ABV. Curiously regal for American oak. Gloss and texture from the inclusion of Speyburn and Aberlour, considerably aged in recharred barrels, caramelize perfectly in a sweet sugar seal.

“A blend of palo cortado-finished Caol Ila, red wine cask- finished Peat Monster, and marsala-finished Laphroaig, this is one to savor over time. Aromas of smoked lemon rind, peat smoke, parma violets, vanilla, honey, raisins, and creosote are lifted by a gummies sweetness. Lemon, chocolate ganache, and punchy smoke flavors on the palate slowly evolve into dried vine fruits, blueberry, and plum, with drying peat smoke on the finish.”
