Being distilled and matured by the sea coupled with meticulous cask selection creates a distinctive flavour which sets it apart from other single malt Scotch whiskies. This limited Old Pulteney expression is matured in ex-bourbon casks, and port casks from the Douro Valley of northern Portugal. This release is fragrant and rich with notes of sultanas and buttery vanilla complemented by candied orange, marzipan cherries, and cinnamon swirls. Baked toffee apples, fresh plum, and salted dark chocolate grace the palate, culminating in a fruity burst on the finish with a delicious sea spray.

There are nice fruity notes as well, like baked red apples and Bosc pears, plus cinnamon, fresh challah, orange peel, and dried leaves. Creamy and smooth on the palate, with melted milk chocolate, tiramisu, crème brûlée, and light pepper spice. Espresso and cream highlight a lengthy and excellent finish.”
