12. Glenfarclas The Family Cask 1968 S16 Cask No. 5243 This astonishing whisky from Glenfarclas is part of the distillery’s Family Casks series. Distilled in 1968, it spent a staggering 47 years in a sherry hogshead, before being bottled in 2016. Limited to just 149 bottles, this whisky comes with a distinctive wooden display case. The nose has excellent depth with aromas of spice, mixed peels, mint, damson jam, pepper, and stone fruit. On the palate, you get stewed fruits, cocoa, toffee, and pluming smoke with a long finish.
